Roberley Bell, Sarah Braman, & Jen Simms
Haptic Home (mixed media)
(curated by Sandy Litchfield)
Haptic Home brings together Roberley Bell, Sarah Braman, and Jen Simms in a sensory-rich exhibition that explores the tactile pleasure of ready-made objects and recycled materials from both nature and home. Bell’s whimsical, plant-like forms fuse the organic with the artificial, their surfaces saturated with color and texture. These hybrid sculptures question the duality of the domestic and the wild. Braman’s structures, composed of tinted glass and salvaged materials, function like luminous thresholds that balance color-drenched volumes of light with the solid weight of form. Simms’ small weavings evoke a haptic intimacy—woven recycled yarns that come to life with the warmth of the hand. Her work captures the quiet rhythm of domestic labor mixed with playful humor and joy.
