Felt Your Own Hat!
Instructor: Andrea Spiridonakos
In this lesson, kids will learn the craft fiber art of felt making. Using soap and water, we will felt wool fibers to create our own hat or a 2D work of art. Kids will learn how to create a new fabric from scratch and understand the magical properties of wool.
Andrea Spiridonakos (b. Winsted, CT) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who lives in Miami Beach. Her artwork has been exhibited at Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris) in collaboration with the Métiers d’Arts CHANEL, Newport Art Museum, Coral Gables Museum, Bergdorf Goodman, Adrienne Arsht Center and the Miami Design District to name a few. It is acquired into the permanent collection at deYoung Museum in San Francisco and part of private collections across the US.
