Apply for a Grant
The application window is now open for fiscal year 2026 Statewide Community Regrants (SCR) Community Arts projects from eligible organizations, individual artists, and project managers in the Adirondack (ADK) Quad-County region—Clinton, Essex, Franklin, and Hamilton counties—as well as the Haudenosaunee tribal community of Akwesasne. The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts (ALCA) SCR Program is generously funded by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
Key Dates
2026 SCR Community Arts project applications and, for organizational applicants (including fiscal sponsors), the Intent-to-Apply form: The application windows are open, with a current initial deadline of December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. The windows for 2026 Arts Education project and Individual Artist (IA)applications are scheduled to open by January 1, 2026, with initial deadlines of January 31, 2026. Deadlines are likely to be extended on a more-or-less monthly basis until ALCA receives enough applications to reasonably expect to be able to regrant all of the available 2026 SCR funds for each grant category—Arts Ed and IA each being capped at 25% of the total regrant monies available in our region for 2026.

Individual teaching artists, artist collectives or non-profit organizations registered in NY State.
Projects:
Sequential arts education projects in K-12 schools or projects at community-based learning centers for youth and/or adults.

Eligibility:
-
All applicants must be based in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, or Hamilton counties, including the Akwesasne tribal community, OR must have a fiscal sponsor based in one of these counties.

All applicants and/or project managers for organization applicants must be at least 18 years of age
at the time of application.

Organizations and individuals who apply directly to NYSCA for grant funding may not apply for any SCR regrant funding nor serve as a fiscal sponsor in the same fiscal year cycle.
Application Requirements:

All applicants must submit their completed application via the Submittable platform.

All applicants must attend either a grant application seminar or participate in an individual consultation with ALCA’s SCR coordinator, Fred Balzac, unless they previously applied for funding through this program in which case they should contact Fred to confirm they will be exempt from this training.

Organizational applicants for Community Arts and Arts Education grants must submit an Intent-to-Apply form.
Step 2
Attend a Grant-Application Seminar or Consultation

Attendance in a grant-application seminar or a consultation with Grant Coordinator, Fred Balzac, is required.

Prepare & Submit Your Application
Draft Your Application
Use the Word version of the application form (available by request from Fred Balzac) to draft offline.
