The JGS Fellowship for Photography:
An exciting opportunity for photographers through the New York Foundation for the Arts.
In its inaugural year, The JGS Fellowship for Photography is open to New York State photography artists, living and working anywhere in the following New York State regions: Western New York, Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Central New York, North Country, Mohawk Valley, Capital District, Hudson Valley and Long Island. As the Fellowship is not a project grant, funds can be used however the artist’s please. Applicants are encouraged to apply with work that is already completed that demonstrates the artist's vision and voice. Applications are free and all applicants must apply online.
Our 2020 Call for Artist is closed for submissions.
The selection process will be completed by March 29 with acceptance notification sent via email.
We are looking for artists to exhibit in the 2020 season. Exhibits are located in one of our three galleries and run for four to six weeks from June – December (dates subject to change). Each exhibit has an artist reception open to the public. The deadline to submit your artwork for consideration is March 7, 2020.
All medias will be considered including, but not limited to, mixed media, installations, paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, sculpture, 3D, textiles, video, sound or interactives. Interested artists must submit up to ten (10) jpegs that represent a cohesive exhibit.
Submission must be completed online using our online submission platform (see below), Submittables. The submission fee is $35 for Arts Center members and $45 for non-members. The selection process will be completed by March 29, 2020 with acceptance notifications sent via email.
