The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts center, serving over 2,000 square miles of the Adirondack Park. The Arts Center provides services to the non-profit field as a presenter, producer and educator in the artistic disciplines of visual arts, theater, music, dance, and film throughout the Adirondack region as well as providing technical assistance to non-profits, local government, and area businesses.
The Arts Center operates within the six-million acre Adirondack Park, a “Forever Wild” region. Although the Park’s wilderness setting is breathtaking, residents face geographic isolation and economic challenges. By taking art “out of the building,” the Arts Center provides programming in over 2,000 square miles of the Adirondack Park and enhances the quality of life in all of the communities we serve. The Arts Center’s programs serve all ages and all abilities, and provide the kind of unique, shared experiences that build strong communities.
The Arts Center has built a reputation as a leader in the nonprofit community providing valuable assistance and services to organizations, businesses and local government agencies. The Arts Center is vital and relevant to our community as is evidenced by high attendance at events and stable membership levels. The Arts Center contributes significantly to the tourism of the region (a foundation of the Adirondack economy) by providing high caliber, year-round programming that includes exhibits, concerts and theatre productions; as well as workshops, intensives and other programs for children adults and families.
