Welcome to the Gallery at the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts...

The mission of The Arts Center gallery is to promote the fine arts by exhibiting artwork at the Arts Center and in our satellite galleries. My goal as the Gallery Director is to present traditional artwork juxtaposed with contemporary work. Our exhibits include local, national, and international artists. We invite our communities and visitors to experience a taste of what is going on in the Adirondacks as well as to see what’s happening in other places and cultures in the art world. I hope the galleries will inspire you to notice something new, question what you see, and that they will lead to a path of continuing appreciation of the visual arts.

GALLERY SPACES

FRONT GALLERY:
1st floor (handicap assessable)
This gallery on the north side has windows on two sides and a glass door and a glass window to our lobby. The walls are painted and the floor is wood. Situated on the first floor, it receives lots of traffic, and the ceiling height is taller than the upstairs spaces. It works well for both 2-D work and installations. View the gallery space

UPSTAIRS GALLERY: 2nd floor
There are large windows on either side of the gallery, which provide lots of natural northern light. One wall is painted a rust color and the others are cream. The floor is carpeted with a gray carpet. This is our largest gallery space and works well for large 2-D work. View the gallery space

BACK GALLERY: 2nd floor
This small gallery connects to the Upstairs Gallery, and is painted a dark pink/red. There are no windows in this space, but there are two doors. It works well for small intimate 2-D work, video, and small installations, or an extension of the Upstairs Gallery. This gallery connects to our art studio and receives a lot of traffic when classes are being taught. View the gallery space

LOBBY/THEATRE: On occasion, we exhibit in our Lobby and large theatre space. These are both on the first floor, and receive many viewers daily.
