SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:

GALLERY & EDUCATION ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP
Gallery / Education Assistant Description: This is an advanced internship involving all aspects of gallery and education program coordination in a multi-arts center. The Gallery / Education Assistant works closely with the Gallery Director and Production Manager in the following areas: consignment, workshops and exhibitions. Responsibilities include: collecting admissions for workshops and performances; preparing materials and supplies for and assisting with children’s workshops; mounting gallery exhibitions and occasionally preparing for gallery receptions; assisting with the preparation and distribution of press releases, flyers and other promotional materials. The job requires some lifting and ladder climbing. Interns are required to supervise the galleries. Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual benefits, general gallery maintenance, organizing workshop areas and other tasks as assigned by the Gallery Director or Production Manager.
Hours/Week: 40
Days & Hours Needed: Variable

REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates must have a solid background in fine arts, and have the ability to work with visual artists to achieve professional presentations in all media. Qualified candidates should have experience teaching introductory fine art classes for children, teens and adults, and some experience handling artwork. All applicants must possess excellent communication skills.
TRANSPORTATION: Candidate should have a car.

BOX OFFICE / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Box Office / Administrative Assistant Internship: This is an advanced internship involving all aspects of box office and administrative coordination in a multi-arts center. The Box Office/ Administrative Assistant works closely with the Assistant Director, Development Director, and Executive Director in the following areas: box office sales, subscription management, membership recruitment and management, and development work. Responsibilities include: selling tickets at events, monitoring and reporting on ticket sales, generating box office reports, assisting with membership cultivation events, managing mailings, assisting in marketing of events. Interns are occasionally required to supervise the galleries. Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual benefits and other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director.

Marketing Assistant Description: This is an advanced internship involving all aspects of public relations and marketing in a multi-arts center. The Marketing Assistant works closely with the Executive Director and Marketing Director to handle press releases and press cultivation, create posters, postcards, and website design, assist on benefits and fundraising planning. Applications should be well-versed in graphic design and web management and have an interest in marketing and audience cultivation.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates should have college level experience in graphic design and marketing and the ability to achieve professional presentations in all media. Qualified candidates must have experience with preparing press releases and other aspects of promoting exhibits, workshops, performances and other events.   TECH EXPERIENCE NECESSARY in: Mac, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator CS3, iWork, and Social Networking Sites: Facebook, Flickr, Twitter etc.

Responsibilities include: maintaining inventory, sales of merchandise, marketing, collecting admissions for workshops and performances, and managing a small gallery space. The job requires some lifting and ladder climbing. Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual benefits, general gallery maintenance, organizing workshop areas and other tasks as assigned by the Gallery Director or Production Manager.
